FAQs

I’m a total beginner. Can I still do this?

Yes. Everything I teach is beginner-friendly and designed for women who are brand new (or starting over). You’ll learn step-by-step in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.

Do I need to be a certain size or body type?

No. Sew You Creation Studio is specifically for real bodies—especially curvy midlife bodies that don’t match “standard sizing.” The goal is fit and confidence, not changing your body.

What do I need to get started?

A basic sewing machine, thread, fabric scissors, pins or clips, a measuring tape, and a seam ripper are enough to begin. You do not need a huge supply stash to start making progress.

I’ve tried sewing before and got frustrated. How is this different?

Most sewing instruction jumps straight to patterns. I take a body-first approach—understanding your shape, what you want to wear, and how to get a fit that feels good—so you stop wasting fabric and quitting halfway through.

How much time will I need each week?

Plan for short sessions you can fit into real life. Even small consistent progress adds up.

What is the free mini-course “Know Your Body Before You Sew (or Shop)”?

It’s a free starter mini-course that helps you understand your body shape and what silhouettes tend to flatter you—so you can sew (or shop) with more confidence and fewer disappointing fits.

What is “Fit & Feel-Good Sewing Lab” and how do I join?

It’s a free live cohort starting February 8, designed for women 40+ who want to sew clothes that fit their real bodies. Spots are limited (8 participants). Join the waitlist and you’ll get the details as soon as enrollment opens.

When will “I Want to Learn How to Sew (But Don’t Know Where to Start)” be available?

It’s coming soon. Join the notify list and I’ll email you the moment it’s live, along with simple next steps to start sewing without overwhelm.

Will your main paid course be available soon?

Yes. I’m building the full beginner-friendly sewing course with a focus on fit, comfort, and style for midlife bodies. If you want first access and launch updates, join the email list through the free mini-course or the notify/waitlist forms.

How do I get help if I’m stuck?

Each course will have clear lines of communication to discuss issues, plus there will also be live sessions where we will work together to solve all difficulties.
